FIRE’s mission is to provide public education—especially for journalists and public supporters of journalism—to create a more just, democratic society by building the capacity of freelance investigative journalists from diverse backgrounds to produce investigations in the public interest. To protect our obligation not to engage in any activity outside our charitable purpose, FIRE reserves the right to withhold to any person or entity any tool, resource, or service the provision of which, in our discretion, does not clearly advance our charitable purpose.
